Dartmouth is widely considered as the Jewel of the South Devon, with its historic narrow streets, boutique shops, galleries, delicatessens and abundance of restaurants. It is a popular holiday destination for couples and families from across the UK and abroad. This small naval port is home to the Britannia Royal Naval College, the official centre for Royal Naval officer training, has played an important part in the UKs nautical history dating back as far as 1147 and 1190. There is also an abundance of WWII history with touching distance including the famous site of Operation Tiger.
During the summer months the River Dart is bustling with people and has activities for adults and children alike.

The Dart Estuary is part of the South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and also lies within the South Devon Heritage Coast. Within a short drive of Dartmouth there is an abundance of areas of natural beauty such as Blackpool sands and its turquoise water giving it a distinct Mediterranean feel. If you enjoy walking there are fantastic walks along the South West Coast path either heading East towards Brixham or West to Slapton Sands and Start Bay.

During the year various events and festivals take place in the Town. Every year since 1834, the Dartmouth Royal Regatta is the highlight of the calendar and brings the whole town, and the water, to life. Visitors enjoy a host of events from rowing; sailing to air displays and fireworks to name a few and this normally takes place over the last weekend of August.

Guest Reviews

We came for a 3 night stay for our wedding anniversary and were impressed as we arrived by the beautiful surroundings. The reception staff welcomed us and gave us room 306. It's a very comfortable. The bed was very comfortable, nice bed linen and towels, bathroom with toiletries. Everything was spotlessly clean. Breakfasts are excellent, lots of choice and the staff are delightful, so helpful and friendly. We ate in the restaurant for one night and the food was delicious with lots of choice. Bar snacks were good too. My husband had 2 rounds of golf and was impressed with the course. The location is very quiet and relaxing but close to many great places. We visited Totnes, Dartmouth, Coleton Fishacre as well as walking on the beach. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back
